Valuations and offers
How do I get a valuation?
Call us on 024 7629 1119 with your registration number, current mileage, postcode, an honest description of the vehicle condition and ideally some recent photographs. We will give you an honest indication of what we can offer before arranging a visit.
Do you give a guaranteed price over the phone?
We give an honest initial indication based on the information you provide. The final offer is confirmed after a physical inspection of the vehicle. We will always explain any difference clearly and you are free to decline.
How is the offer calculated?
We consider the vehicle age, mileage, condition, service history, MOT status, known faults and current market conditions. We explain our reasoning so you understand exactly how we arrived at the figure.
Will the price change on the day?
Only if the vehicle condition is meaningfully different from what was described. We are transparent about any differences and give you the opportunity to accept or decline the revised figure.
Is there a fee for a valuation?
No. Valuations and assessments are completely free. You are under no obligation to sell and there is no charge if you decline the offer.
Process and appointments
Do you come to my home?
Yes. We come to your home, workplace or another agreed location at a time that suits you. You do not need to drive anywhere or arrange transport.
How quickly can you come?
Subject to availability and your location within our coverage area, we can often arrange a same-day visit. Call us in the morning for the best chance of a same-day appointment.
Can I arrange an evening or weekend appointment?
We are flexible and can often accommodate evenings and weekends. Call us to discuss availability.
What happens during the visit?
We carry out a thorough physical inspection of the vehicle — exterior, interior, engine bay and a brief road test if appropriate. We then confirm the offer and, if you accept, complete payment and paperwork on the spot.
What if I change my mind after calling?
No problem. You are free to cancel at any time before the visit with no penalty or charge.
Payment
How do you pay?
We make payment at the point of purchase. Please speak with us about the payment method when you call so we can confirm the arrangement before the visit.
When do I receive payment?
Payment is made when we complete the sale at your location. You do not need to wait for funds to clear or follow up after the visit.
Do you provide a receipt?
Yes. We always provide a written receipt confirming the sale price, vehicle details and the date of sale. Keep this for your records.
Paperwork and documents
What documents do I need to sell my car?
Ideally: the V5C logbook, a valid photo ID (driving licence or passport), proof of address and any service history. If you do not have the V5C, call us to discuss the options before the visit.
What if I have lost the V5C?
You can apply for a duplicate V5C from the DVLA. Alternatively, call us to discuss whether we can proceed and what additional steps might be needed.
Who handles the DVLA notification?
We complete the DVLA keeper change together at the point of sale. This is typically done online via the DVLA website using the reference number on the V5C. You retain confirmation of the change for your records.
Do I need to cancel my road tax?
Road tax is automatically cancelled when the DVLA processes the keeper change. You will receive a refund for any full remaining months. You should also notify your insurer separately.
Cars and coverage
What types of car do you buy?
We mainly buy cars generally up to 10 years old across all makes and models. Petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric all considered. Selected older vehicles with low mileage or good history may also be considered.
Do you buy cars with faults?
Yes, in many cases. Cars with known mechanical faults, bodywork damage, advisories or a failed MOT may still be considered. The condition will be reflected in the offer. Describe the faults honestly when you call.
My car has outstanding finance — can you still buy it?
In some cases, yes. Outstanding HP or PCP finance must be disclosed and settled before the sale can complete. Call us to discuss, and have your finance agreement and settlement figure available.
What areas do you cover?
We cover Coventry and surrounding areas within approximately 20 miles, including Nuneaton, Bedworth, Rugby, Leamington Spa, Kenilworth, Warwick, Solihull, Hinckley, Atherstone, Coleshill and many more. See the full list.
